Tee It Up for Education Golf Classic - September 28
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (BGCAA) raised money for education on September 28, while enjoying a fun day on the golf course. The golf tournament, with the Scottish twist, was held at the The Club at South River in Edgewater, Maryland. The day was a great success thanks to our sponsors, our golfers, and the staff of BGCAA. The 17th Annual "Tee it Up for Education" Golf classic helped raise money to help young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Thank you to each of you who made this event a success. View a slide show here.

CCC Sailing Regatta - September 16 - 19
After an absence of five years, the Sailing Regatta returned to Annapolis.  Attended by five boats, it was fun to see many old faces and some new ones at the reception held at Pussers.  Glasses were raised in a toast to absent friends and to those who would have attended but for wobbly knees, bad backs and various other excuses……

Friday saw the boats set sail across the Chesapeake followed by a day of racing in St. Michael’s Bay on Saturday.  I am glad to say that there were no accidents and no one was lost overboard (we think).  Saturday evening saw a gathering at the Carpenter Street Bar although a little more subdued than in past years.  Our thanks to Christine DeSimone from Annapolis Bay Charters for arranging the charter.

Congratulations to Lorenzo Vascotto and his crew for winning the Colonial Challenge Cup 2010.
There is a rumor that the Reunion Tour may return in 2011.  Watch this space for announcements.

The Colonial Challenge Cup Track Day - September 8, 2010
Once again the event was well attended with drivers, instructors and spectators enjoying the wonderful late summer sun.  No rain this time like we experienced in April.  A wide range of cars were in attendance including an Ariel Atom, a Fisher Fury, Austin Healy Sprite, numerous Porsches and Corvettes and even a Hertz rental car!  The Charity Rides at lunch time were as popular as ever and we are most grateful to all the kind drivers who took the time to ‘escort’ the spectators at speed around the track.

The car of the day was the 1963 Austin Healey Sprite owned by Gary Dathe; what a great sight to see a British classic at speed holding her own among the BMW’s and rice rockets.  Keep spreading the word about our unique event and see what surprises we come up with next year!
